The WNBA Looks Like a JOKE as Players Leave Midseason for International Play

The WNBA is once again under fire as multiple players are missing large chunks of the season to play internationally. While fans, teams, and broadcasters try to take the league seriously, how can they when key contributors are allowed to walk away midseason to represent other countries? With the league already battling for attention and credibility, this trend continues to be an embarrassment that undermines everything the WNBA is trying to build. From Damiris Dantas leaving for Brazil to others suiting up in overseas tournaments, the question has to be asked: How is this acceptable in a professional league?
